Why Family Plans are Better

Here are some quick tips why family shared plans are better than individual plans. If you and your spouse have individual cell phone account with the different carriers, you can save a lot of money by creating a single family account with just one carrier. First, simple fact: if both of you and your spouse talk to each other via cell phone when away from home, each minute counts toward the monthly anytime minutes. If you have a family plan, the mobile to mobile minutes are always free between the 2 lines. Better yet, talking to anyone within the same network will be free too. Secondly, for most of the family plans, additional line (3-5) only costs $10 each vs. individual line at $40. So, if you have 5 lines, you actually save $90 for line 3 to 5. Not only can you get discounts on voice features, some plans also offer discount on data and email for additional lines. Sign up for the voice plan first and you can always add on other features such as text and web later.
